2020 Ford Escape
The revamped lineup of the 2020 Ford Escape has emerged as one of the top compact SUVs out there. With its new features and functionalities, the lineup is fighting head-on with its competitors. Let’s find out what the 2020 Ford Escape has in stores for customers.
The new Ford Escape is wider, longer, and lower as opposed to the previous lineup. The lower beltline allows the model to feature a broader window, thereby providing better outside visibility. Additionally, the expansive greenhouse accompanied by a plunging nose gives the Escape a look of a bigger hatchback. Owing to the use of high-strength steel, the new lineup is noticeably lighter. This allows a greater degree of ease and agility.
The 2020 Ford Escape is available in multiple trim levels, including the Titanium, SEL, SE, Hybrid-only SE Sport, and S. Additionally, the company offers four powertrains that include two gasoline engines, a plug-in hybrid, and a standard hybrid. There is a standard front-wheel on all the models; however, Titanium is the only one that comes with the all-wheel-drive option.
The Escape comes with a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-three cylinder, which generates a horsepower of 181 and lb-ft torque of 190. The Titanium model comes with a more impressive upgrade with 2.0-liter inline-four. It is only available on all-wheel-drive models. The 2.0 liter generates 250 horsepower along with a torque of 289 lb-ft.
Despite the addition of new features and functionalities, the 2020 Ford Escape did not compromise on space. The seats can comfortably accommodate different types of passengers. The new Escape measures around 180.5 inches in lengths and has a wheelbase of 106.7 inches, which is two inches longer in comparison to the previous model. With efficient design and clever ensemble, the model offers more space than before.
The dash has become shallower and straight, thereby providing more room for knees. Considering the new models are higher, the headspace has also increased.
The bottom of the bench cushion deep inboard from the doors; however, they have straight and narrow bolsters. The models feature cloth upholstery, which makes the seats better padded than the previous leather-trimmed versions.
The rear seats fold down completely to provide more space to the already spacious cargo bin. When the seats are pushed forwards, the Escape offers 37.5 cubic feet worth of storage space. And with the rear seats completely folded down, the car can offer cargo space of 65.4 cubic feet.
The 2020 Ford Escape model features automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beam headlights, active lane control, and blind-spot monitors. Moreover, the forward-collision warning system is supported by cameras that can reduce the speed of the accidents up to 75 mph.
Featuring adaptive cruise control, the model includes more sensors and also integrates lane-centering control, which protects from the boomerang action.
Overall, the 2020 Ford Escape is boosted with improved features and specifications that justify its popularity in the market. The lineup is highly fuel-efficient as well, with hybrid models standing at the forefront of the same.
