The New 2020 Ford Bronco: Everything You Should Know About the New SUV

The Bronco holds an important place in the world of cars. Ford produced this iconic SUV starting in the 1960s all the way through the mid-1990s. However, Ford is bringing back the Bronco in 2020, ready to win the hearts of a new generation. If you have never heard about the Ford Bronco before, then keep reading and we’ll fill you in on Ford’s classic SUV!

What Is It?

The 2020 Ford Bronco will compete with rugged SUVs like the Jeep Wrangler and Toyota 4Runner. The new Bronco will follow in the footsteps of its predecessor: a no-compromise SUV built on a strong body frame and 4x4 drive system, capable of taking on the toughest terrains. Ford intends for the Ford Bronco to be an ideal vehicle for thrill-seekers eager to venture out of the city. If media reports are to be believed, the company won’t offer it as a three-door SUV, like the classic Bronco. However, there are chances you might see a smaller variant called the Bronco Sport.

How Will the Ford Bronco Look Like?

The company has not revealed any design for the 2020 Ford Bronco and most information available on the internet is based on speculation of industry experts. According to a few experts, the new SUV might have a Raptor base body design while some suggest it would be more similar to the Ford Everest. The Ford Everest is a five-door SUV that is based on the Ranger platform and not sold in the U.S. There are also rumors that the 2020 Ford Bronco might have removable doors and a removable roof.

The company recently organized a press event where the 2020 Ford Bronco was presented covered under a sheet. After looking at the pictures of the fully covered Bronco, you can draw a conclusion that the overall styling of the new SUV is boxier than the current Ford Everest. The new SUV has a tapered roof and the spare wheel is mounted at the back would make you think it looks more like Jeep Wrangler.

What’s Under the Hood?

According to the best guess, the company is more likely to drop an Ecoboost engine in the 2020 Ford Bronco. According to some Canadian paper leaks, the new SUV might have a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine making 270 horsepower and 310 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine would be paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. There are also rumors of the company offering a variant of the 2020 Ford Bronco which would be powered by a V8 engine, delivering an 325 horsepower and 369 lb.-ft. of torque.

How Much Will the 2020 Ford Bronco Cost?

The company is more than likely to price the 2020 Ford Bronco around $40,000 in the U.S. This will allow the new SUV to give tough competition to 4Runner and Wrangler which belong to the same price category.

There is no doubt the company has managed to generate excitement about the new SUV and we hope the 2020 Ford Bronco offers something new in the competitive SUV category.
