What is FordPass™?

FordPass™ is an app from Ford designed to give customers the latest features for their Ford. This is accomplished by installing a modem, known as the FordPass™ Connect, into the vehicle itself to provide useful information, such as live traffic status, detailed past service records, updated maintenance schedules, information about the existing warranty, and more.

Can FordPass™ help me access Wifi in the car?

Yes. Through FordPass™ Connect, you can now connect to high speed WiFi while on the road.

If I Am Locked In or Out of My Ford, Can I Unlock It Using FordPass™?

Yes. If your vehicle comes with FordPass™ Connect, you will need to first download the FordPass app in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, then select your car. After, press and hold the lock or unlock button on the home screen till the circle starts to rotate. Upon doing this, you will get a notification of the doors being unlocked or locked.

What Are Some of the Features of the FordPass™ Connect Remote?

  • Lock or unlock the vehicle’s doors from virtually anywhere

  • Useful information, such as current fuel levels, miles until next service, and fuel economy figures can be obtained even if you are not near your car

  • The Vehicle Locator function is able to save the car’s location once it is turned off

  • Your car can be easily started with the press of a button, and you can even schedule the remote start as per your convenience. Regardless of your routine, your Ford will always be ready for you.


Does FordPass™ Connect Provide Roadside Assistance?

Roadside assistance is available 24/7 on the toll-free number 1-800-241-3673. Once you are put in contact with a representative, you will need to provide the following information:

  • Vehicle model, make and color

  • License plate number

  • Present location

  • Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)


How can I locate my VIN?

The VIN is a 17-digit alphanumeric code, typically found in one of the following places:

  • Windshield — Visible from outside, it may be present at the lower corner of the windshield on the driver’s side

  • Door — You may find it on the doorframe of the driver’s side

  • Vehicle records — The VIN could be present on the car’s registration form, insurance card, or any of the other purchase documents
